In Glomsdalen there are as many as five summer farms, many old cultural heritage sites, an old mountain farm, and the possibility of fantastic views over Oppstryn.
There are no longer cattle grazing in the valley, and there aren’t many sheep to be seen either. In a few years, the deer will probably have the whole valley to itself.

  • Segestad mountain farm

    Segestad mountain farm

    Segestad is beautifully situated on a mountain ledge 315 metres above sea level. The abandoned mountain farm offers a glimpse into Norway’s agricultural history.

  • Glomnesfossen

    Glomnesfossen and Hellskora

    Glomnesfossen is at its most impressive during the snowmelt season and in periods of heavy rainfall. Hellskora offers a panoramic view of Lake Oppstryn and the surrounding mountains.

  • Glomnesnakken

    Glomnesnakken

    The hike to Glomnesnakken is the shortest mountain hike in Oppstryn, but the view from the summit rivals the very best.

    Roundtrip in Glomsdalen

    This circular hike takes you past the mountain farm of Segestad, Segestad Summer Farm, and Glomnes Summer farm.

  • Sela på Nos

    Hike to Nos

    Nos is a summer farm with a long history. Huldersteinen (The Huldre Stone), a cup-marked stone, is evidence that people have lived here since the Bronze Age.

  • Setra Stol

    HIke to Stol

    Archaeological excavations have shown that Stol has been a place of significant activity throughout history. Cooking pits and charcoal pits have been discovered here, and a cup-marked stone can be found near the mountain pasture.
