Hikes in Furedalen

Furedalen stretches about 5 km north from Veslebygda, reaching all the way to the Sunnmøre border. At the end of the valley, we find two idyllic lakes, Botnevatna lakes. These lie at an elevation of nearly 900 meters, and fishing should be possible there. Further down the valley is Furesetra. Back when this mountain farm was in operation, there were as many as eight cabins here. Today, only a few remain.

The well-known mountain Marsåhyrna is perhaps easiest to reach from Furedalen.

From Stryn town center, drive 10 km east along Rv. 15 to Storesunde. Here, turn left at the intersection before the bridge and follow Flovegen for about 4 km to Veslebygda. Turn left and drive up a hill for about one kilometer to the Sollid farm. From this farm, a drivable forest road continues for more than 1 kilometer. If you have 4-wheel drive and good ground clearance, you can drive to the end of the road and park.
