Hikes in Skaardalen
Skaardalen stretches about 2 km relatively steeply northwest from Veslebygda. There is only one mountain farm in the valley, Skaarsetra. The old farm trail from the Skaar farm to Skaarsetra is nicely cleared. This is the best route to reach the beautiful Skaardalen valley.
Skaarsetra is beautifully situated on a southeast-facing slope. It offers great views of Lake Oppstrynsvatnet. If you are in good shape, you can continue to the summit of Skaarfjellet, at 1,073 m a.s.l.
